Good news everyone! This week, as you should know, fencing Intervarsity (our equivalent of uni-games) was held in Sydney, with pretty much all uni fencing clubs in attendance. While we sent relatively small team (many of us were feeling cheap, or on holiday ), we managed to get some of our best results for a long time. Congratulations are in order for Charles, Cameron and Alex, who formed our mens foil team, proceededing to tear apart anyone in their path! From all accounts, Charles was on fire, and won the individual mens foil, while Cameron had a top-8 finish, and Alex managed 18th. But it doesn't stop there; Monash came against Sydney Uni (last year's winners) in the teams semi-final... and won 45-44! Then in the final, against a West Australian Uni, after being down 30-40 going into the last bout, Charles pulled back 15 points in 2 minutes, for a 45-42 victory! Still waiting on results for Alex's novice foil, and he managed 8th in the individual sabre, which was a very impressive effort for someone doing it for only around 6 months! Charles' effort will almost certainly earn him a Green & Gold team selection also! Massive amounts of congratulations to all ;D

Cool, well done! Does that mean men's foil was the only team you had? Hopefully such a good result will inspire more people to go next year. How did the Novice go?

And, as for the novice comp... full results I'll need Miranda to post up, but suffice to say that we won it again, pretty comfortably too ;D I think Monash ended up on 51 points, LaTrobe and ANU were closest with around 26, 24 points or so. Tam cleaned up the womens sabre, Miranda did pretty well in her Epee, while Liam managed to not only win the Epee, but also managed to fluke the Sabre. (Cant remember foil results, I was at work ) But, Miranda will post up a list of placings, wont she?

No, just that I forgot I had a profile to modify. All fixed now. Good to hear that the club is still beating people up in my absence.
